The making of my "Glasses chains'...

Hi there,

I thought it might be interesting for you to see the design process of how the glasses chains were made, so here we go:

For ages I collected colourful vintage pop beads wherever I could find them, and I mainly got them from the vintage markets I visit to source my ‘ingredients’ as I say ;-)

I like using these vintage pop beads as the colours are fun and vibrant and also because they are gentle and comfortable to wear around the back of our necks, as well as suitable for people who suffer from nickel allergies.

As shown in the pictures above, I layed out all the different coloured pop-bead chains in a row on my desk, and then started adding other vintage odds and ends to either side.

I choose beads, vintage lightweight aluminium hoops and other elements according to what I feel goes well with the colour of the pop beads and also to add shapes and colour to the side of the chains…

This takes quite a long time, involving lots of swapping and changing, and I have to keep measuring that I stay around the 85cm length mark, as this is a good length for glasses chains.

I enclose some pictures of the finished ones.

They are all £55 each.

Some of them are available on my website shop now.

I hope you enjoyed me sharing the design process of the latest glasses chains.
